Gladys Care provided me with my first placement, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity. The pay is very fair for carers, and the system is simple and easy to use.They generate invoices, which makes everything much more straightforward. A special mention to Sharin in the office, who is an excellent source of support, always helpful, approachable, and quick to respond. Overall, a very positive experience, and I would be more than happy to have another opportunity to work with them.

I have just started with Gladys. I am really pleased with the service and very delighted on how easy it is for shifts and how to claim expenses and mileage. So easy and very simple. It has been so easy to fill up my week with clients and kept work life balance.

Gladys’s is a wonderful organisation, who have supported me over the past 6 months, I have been introduced to a wonderful lady, who I know see as a friend, we have a great time together doing all the things she likes to do, her family are so supportive of our friendship and we keep each other updated weekly, I feel so supported and there seems to be someone around to answer any questions and get over any hurdles I may have, Gladys’s is also very good at giving me feedback and appreciation of the visits I do or the communication I have with the family, I have recommended Gladys’s to friends and family, in time when I have capacity I would love to meet new people, it’s been such a positive experience for me and my friend, ( I know this because she tells me ).

In August I took early retirement but felt I wanted to do something else for a few hours each week working with people. During my search I came across Gladys on the internet and really liked the sound of them. I filled out some details about myself and a short time later Ellie called me to discuss what I was looking for. She was very friendly and interested in me as a person and I haven’t looked back. I started with a wonderful lady in the Bristol area covering for her carer who was abroad for 2 weeks. I now visit an amazing lady, two afternoons a week, doing light housework, making her supper and chatting over a cup of tea.This is one of the happiest and most fulfilling jobs I have had. All the staff I have come into contact with at Gladys are just brilliant. They literally do everything they say they will do from listening to what it is you are looking for and matching you with suitable clients, to providing good follow up with you and the client to check all is going well. They manage your weekly payments and are so grateful for all you do. They make you feel valued and an important part of the team. I have never been thanked as much as I am in this role. And the icing on the cake is you can choose which jobs you accept and decide how many hours you want to work. It’s win- win for clients and carers alike.

Gladys is a wonderful company. They really seem to care about the clients, carefully matching carers with the clients’ needs. As an ex-nurse and Health Visitor, I have been impressed with how thoroughly they interviewed me, checked my DBS and found out about my skill-set, before matching me with clients. When I was approached by Gladys Care, I was a little dubious due to knowing how other agencies work and the prices they charge and what they pay their carers. After doing a little investigating, I found out that they pay the carers what they are worth and only charge a very small fee on top, which keeps the cost down for the client.
