What Makes This a Good Policy for Self-Employed Carers?

This policy is designed specifically for you, a self-employed carer working through Gladys Ltd., which means it's tailored to the work you do every day.

The policy protects you in case of injury or legal issues. This is crucial for a self-employed professional, as it protects your personal finances from potential legal costs and damages.

  • Applies to All Your Clients: This policy covers you for all your clients, not just those you find through Gladys.*
  • No More Lapsed Policies: We handle all the administration, so you no longer have to worry about your policy expiring or forgetting to renew.
  • Income Protection: The Personal Accident cover gives you financial support if you have an accident and cannot work.
  • Simplified Billing: We handle the admin and deduct a small, fixed amount from your pay to cover the cost, so you only pay for the hours you work.
  • Peace of Mind: This policy gives you, your clients, and us peace of mind, allowing us to spend more time supporting you and finding you more clients.

How am I insured for work outside of Gladys?

We thought that this would be a great perk for carers working through Gladys. It was a nice way for us to get you something extra for nothing.

Here is how it works in practice. If you work with Gladys in August, you are covered and if you have an issue with a client outside of Gladys, you can claim through this policy in August. If you do no work with Gladys in September, and you have other private / agency clients, this policy would not cover you for a claim in September.

The main purpose of this policy is to ensure that every client and carer is adequately protected when they are working with us.

Policy Costs

From 1st September 2025, all carers working with Gladys will be charged 0.10p per hour of care delivered.

How it works for live-in care
For live-in, we will charge for the hours you are due to work. A standard day is assumed to be 10 hours. Therefore, you would pay 10 x 10p for a standard day. If you charge for ‘overtime’ / ‘waking nights’ etc then 10p is added for every additional hour worked.

We thought that this would be a great perk for carers working through Gladys. It was a nice way for us to get you something extra for nothing.

If you do not wish to be included in the Gladys master policy, you must provide proof of your own valid insurance (including annual renewal documents) and pay a £25 annual admin fee for processing and compliance checks.
